Aw sweetie, that is so great! You sound SO happy! It’s great to know you are doing well. I envy you, my college days were so much fun. You are at the time of your life when everything is a new and fresh experience, an ADVENTURE. I wish you much joy! It sounds as if you have the joy already, lol.
Ken

Woot! I work at Jamba Juice (YUM!) and I have a really cute boyfriend who is a total sweetheart and will be getting his LDS mission call within the next month or so which is very exciting but also sad, all good things must come to an end I guess. I’ve had a niece and another one currently on the way which I can’t wait to meet. And life is good! Besides the fact that it’s finals week xP So mainly super busy with school lately…

So, Gal, does this mean you’ve moved out of Florida, or is it just that you’re gone from home for school? Also, how did you meet your guy and do you plan to continue your friendship throughout and after his mission? I need all the gossip!! LOL
Ken

Hey there,
I moved from Milwaukee in October ‘09. I’m now living in Algoma, Wisconsin. A small resort community on Lake Michigan 25 miles east of Green Bay (Go Pack!!). I needed to consolidate my two offices into one because current business does not require maintaining two offices. Also, my Mom is 76 years old and lives there with my 88 year old stepfather. They are obviously going to require some “assistance” in the next ten years or so, and we figured it would be better if I maintained my home in the same area.
I’m also maintaining a long distance relationship with my dear Tony (6 year anniversary last month). That is a bit difficult, but I do visit Milwaukee weekly and he comes to visit frequently as well. But it is SO much different than living together, lol.
I’ll tell you more about the area I live in and what’s shaking in my life in a future post.
Love,
Koo

Gal, I think that both can be accomplished at the same time, if one has belief in either or both.

I dun see where there is a religious aspect to predestination. Is there one? I mean, I see the supernatural aspect of it. Which pretty much gives you my idea of it, but you know I can jump off the atheist train much more quickly than I used to. Plus, I’m stoned, so I’m extra mellow tonight…lol. You mention the Lord in your second definition, so I’m not sure if he’s involved in the first thingy. I dun believe in it, though. Do you believe in it, or do you know anyone that does? Also, since God is all-knowing, I’d think he would have involvement here. He knows all that you will do in your life, but then he gave us free will (see other discussions, search “free will”). I guess he knows exactly how you’ll manage that free will…lol.

Now then, preordination (is that like your bachelor party before getting ordained as a clergyman?) Sorry, couldn’t help myself. I dun think I really understand this definition. I don’t see how you would know if you did it, or at least not the details…lol. This is kinda scary, too, in that a person could “tell” you that the Lord is asking something of you in order to get you to do something you might not usually do, or worse… There are many religious sects like this… The adherents have nearly as much respect for their clergy as they do for the Lord. Preordination seems like a very nice sentiment, though. There can be nothing wrong with living a worthy life and being obedient to the Lord, certainly no harm in that, sounds good to an atheist, too! Atheists know that people obeying their Lord will cause them no harm… So, I like it!

I think the two can co-exist in a religious person also. The second one is very worthy, and I’m guessing that you believe that, Gal. And I’m hoping so, too.
Love,
Koo

I am very worried. I see the government and various officials asking for more and more power and less and less accountability, while systematically working to take over the financial industry, the energy industry, the health care industry, perhaps even the auto industry.

I’ll do this reply in several parts, if I do it right…lol

Aran, don’t be so worried. I’m glad you’ve noticed that thing about officials with more power and less accountability. I dun remember your age. I seem to remember your age, but it escapes me due to my current short term memory loss…lol. I first noticed it at seven or eight years old when Johnson pushed through the Civil Rights Act while making sure that we’d be mired in Vietnam for at least 5 or 6 years. And, yes, I noticed it! I have read newspapers every day of my life since i was six years old. Ain’t media wonderful!
Aran, this is the way it always has been. They are always trying to figure out how to do this crap, then do whatever it was, then show how they really DIDN’T do it, etc. Houdini would be jealous! Well, as you know, I’m 52 years of age. I’ve never figured out how to stop what’s going on. Oh, wait, it’s that no power thang, aina hey? They got it, we don’t…
Another problem… they are systematically working to take over that stuff, I won’t re-list it… Well, yes, they are. What does it matter if they do? They’ve been mismanaged for years, why can’t the government kick a little butt while they point out that mismanagement to the American public and to those self-same corporate citizens. And they ARE citizens, according to Supreme Court decision. Time for a civics class, dear corporate citizens. They needed a good wake-up! Especially the predatory lenders! Good Gosh Almighty! There has been unconscionable behavior in some of those boardrooms, and all the way down the line. I’m not even talking about health, insurance, energy or the rest of them (yet) Hey, they are misbehaving! They screwed up our economy, but with plenty of help from our government, too. There’s plenty of blame to go around. I say, let them pick this to pieces for the next few months and let’s see if cooler heads prevail. The prisons that we can no longer afford are very full, even the white collar ones…lol.
I’ll get to my next reply soon as I can Aran, OK sweetie?
Love,
Koo
