If you could live in any other time...

past or future…where-when-why…? Mebbe I’d have lived in 18th century Europe…Gone on the Grand Tour with the other English “Mi’lordi”...The Italian word for all British who visited Italy…A time of great culture…The Classical world of art was really coming into fashion in the previously Christian dominated world of society, politics, and life in general…The beginnings of Secular Humanism… |
I guess I’m pretty happy with living in the time frame I do. There are astounding discoveries meing made on science, tecnology makes life very easy for us and lets us communicate and find out what’s going on like never before. And we haven’t ruined the planet… yet. It’s really exciting to think that I might be alive to see the second coming of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. |

I couldn’t imagine being around in a time ruled by christians. I’d probably be hanged for being a free thinker. I’d live now and no other time. |

I would love to have met Michel Nostradamus. So his time frame.. Emptycalm: Believe it or not the world is still being turned by Christians.. They just do it in secret. You cannot escape you can only be outcast. Atheist will never control a human population without gun shots.. You can quote me on that. |
Non-believers are more common than some might think…They just pretend to believe in the God stuff because it’s…useful… |
Gunshots are the only thing that get peoples attention these days. I know they still rule the world haha. They own america. |
“They own America.” -edit Thank God, which is why we still have the freedoms we do. |
Why would atheists want to control a human population? The atheists in charge of the former USSR couldn’t control theirs and they killed just about as many people as some christian and indeed supposed secular governments have so why not just agree that human beings just don’t form very good governments sometimes (or many times?). If people such as Idi Amin run things, he didn’t control his population with guns, now did he? Guns are very useful to despots, no matter their religion (or lack thereof). And I’m taking it easy on you, today, Good buddy, JT. Sometimes I think you should explain your statements better at the same time as posted so I (we) don’t have to ask you to explain later. Just putting it out there, guy… |

I love how this now has nothing to do with the original thread lol Hmmmm It would be really cool to be around when Greece was at it’s peak… To be able to meet people like Archimedes. Imagine that haha. |
Yeah, we LOVE to get off topic in our threads. |

Hey, I was talking about different eras, so it was close, and rb is pretty liberal…lol fer sure. (or maybe you weren’t even talking to me so I’m being a dick, well, who the heck knows) I don’t know, tho, let me think about this topic a little more. Maybe in Uganda, during the recent past? |
I didn’t mean you, kookoo. Besides, I’m pretty sure you have diplomatic immunity to post whatever you want wherever you want. You’re in the 100+ club. |
100+ Club…Eat it up…We rule…Bow down…I could go on…But you sad pre-100s might get all jealous and angry…Blow trumpets and such…There goes the neighborhood…Literally… |
Well, rb, you sure passed me up quickly, I guess I better get on the stick (oh I’m gay, I already am!) I’m considering the Roman Empire, but as a citizen so that I would have some idea of what was really going on in the world at the time (like they knew! I guess maybe emperor then, or at least a senator). |
If I had to choose I would have lived in the Era around the pride and prejudice movie. I would of liked to be rich though cause the poor at that time all dies of disease and famine :))) |

Victorian era, in the U.S.. |
In the beginning…................................... Or the part when MOngols attacked Japan, except that I could watch near a Hill or something that would give me view and not harm. |
Hey, did the U.S. actually have a Victorian era? lol P.S. And did Victoria know that she was establishing an era? Alex, British eras for 200, please. rb? |
“Hey, did the U.S. actually have a Victorian era“ Yeah. it did. And esoteric crazieness came from it. Repression breeds the weirdness it tries to suppress. |

I’m with AL, I like the present age. Besides, you can find groups who reenact everything from Romans to Vietnam (heavy but not exclusive accent on military) and just about everything in between, so you can have your toga or morning frock or whatever, and get your anti-biotics, too! The Information Age is great… it is too bad we poor humans can only handle so much (often conflicting) data. I try to uphold Information Age values by learning as much as possible and then finding myself reduced to babbling incoherency. |
Babbling incoherently is a wonderful thing, in my book, especially because it fills the pages and then I don’t have to write anything thoughtful. |

I think it would be pretty cool to take a modern vehicle (i.e. a Subaru WRX STI) and go back to anytime between the 50’s to the 80’s and terrorize unsuspecting motorists… |
I think a Lincoln Navigator, or a new Suburban, too… |
Now you’re talking… with a badass stereo… |
That’s how I do reports for work. |
