Kinda goes without saying if you read my introduction post but:

Single parenting, every day… biggest challenge I ever face and I face it daily. Well worth it, though! =)

Having to pay the state $500 a month until I settle a $24,000 fine while trying to support my wife who injured her back and has been out of work for 4 months which has led me to fall behind on other bills. Currently facing about $50,000 in total debt without any real end in sight. Not having any extra money for Christmas. It kinda’ wears on a person…

Gosh, abs…hard stuff you are dealing with…

Having to decide to take my son off life support…That was the toughest thing I have ever faced in my 32 years…

Avatar ratboy Moderator 1,196 post(s)

joew…That goes way beyond “I’m so sorry”...I’m in awe of those who can handle things like that…I’ve never really had to…I hope that I will do what is needed…

Avatar Zil 29 post(s)

Yikes.. yeah, I can’t even possibly imagine….. =(

AL—> what in the world, if I may ask, do you have a $24,000 fine for..??

Avatar absoluteliquid Moderator 970 post(s)

My heart really goes out to you and your family Joe…

Zil ->
I was the driver in an single car auto accident with 4 of my friends in the car. The three in the back seat were banged up the worst. The DA charged me with 6 felony counts of vehicular assault and about 8 other charges. I did not have any money to pay a lawyer up front for a full trial, at least $10,000.00 so I ended up taking the “offer” from the DA and plead to 1 felony count of vehicular assault. The initial fine was $28,000, 45 days in jail, 100 hours community service and I’m on probation ‘till all the money is paid off. That will be about 4 more years.

My Biggest challenge really is walking everyday with a calling on my life with no mammon to fulfill my dreams.. Knowing that I can revitalize the hope of so many young people.. I have many self ailments but, why tally.. They are pointless and I know “They” want me to feel the burdens of everyday “Babylon”. So I must shrug off the personal struggles and look forward and above into the dark.. Waiting for the day for the centurion to bust in my door waving his sword telling me I am wrong for my beliefs.. And I must be silenced.. My dreams are my challenges.. My age is my challenge.. My blind society is my challenge.. My scared brethren are my challenges.. I carry the weight of my surroundings.. This is the real me.. Jibrael T..

M’gosh, that’s a major fine, AL. I hope you are not facing any civil actions.

joew, I’m too emotional to comment on such a tragedy right now, I’ve gone through it, too…so, so sorry. If I can be of ANY comfort, please… and it’s not the first time I have been tearful on this site.

JT, you are gifted with words. Do you write (books, journal, poetry, etc.)?

Thoughts:
Life is Beautiful
What doesn’t kill us can still hurt like hell
Its never so bad that it can’t get substantially worse

I want the t-shirts…

Kookoo:

I do not write but, everyone around me tells me I should. The hard part is the demographic I would like to read my books tend to not read at all.. They are too caught up in Tila Tequila and I Love New York.. Haha.. Sad.. On top of that if I wrote a book it would be raw.. And I would probably be shot for my writings. So I guess I will continue to live until it is time for me to let them know my feelings.

Avatar kookookachoo Moderator 1,382 post(s)

That time will come, JT. I would not want to live if I couldn’t read every single day. TV shows, movies, video games, internet, I do all that, too. But my GREATEST joy in life is picking up a book and devouring it. Please do publish one.
Edit: My greatest challenge is in another thread, how to read every book ever written in one lifetime. Too bad I don’t believe in that afterlife thing, would give me the time to do it, fer sure.

Avatar absoluteliquid Moderator 970 post(s)

A word of encouragement KooKoo, you don’t have to belive in the afterlife for it to exist, so you might just be able to acomplish your goal.

My biggest challenge eh?..... that would be having to move to to New York to live with my Aunt Casey after my dad left my brother and I about.. what? 2 years after Mom died? Yeah i think thats about it. Of course it seems like I’m taking care of Auntie than she taking care of me heh but thats okay. Shes getting better and shes not coughing that much anymore. So things are looking up. Except I had to leave my little brother behind back in Georgia to stay with his best friend’s parents. But hes happy so at least thats good!

Hope, life sounds a mess?

My biggest challenge is – well I have a few – hmmm – Trying to stay out of Gods way. Loving myself – battling jelousy – I used to have quite a temper but I praise God that is getting much better. I was very violent at one time – no more :)

I also battle with my weight – even though 20 pounds overweight to me it feels like 100!

I guess humans are not exempt from challenges this side of heaven anyway :)

“I guess humans are not exempt from challenges this side of heaven anyway :)”

Far from it.

I haven’t commented on this thread yet. I’m surprised.

My biggest challange is to try to remain neutral in a conflict. It isn’t easy.

Avatar ratboy Moderator 1,196 post(s)

Is staying neutral what you want ,FiNiX?...Yes,you should always try to be polite over any issue…But do have an opinion…yes…

Avatar FiNiX 620 post(s)

“Yes,you should always try to be polite over any issue…But do have an opinion…yes…”

Indeed, that was more what I meant.

Define “a big positive change,” please.
