Yeah. Gotta. In the CO days, it came down to a choice between cabin fever, or potential death- by- running- into- a- bighorn sheep-at 70 mph. You’ve got to to pick the potential of road death over the certainty of brain rot, indoors. The comfort of a reclining office chair by a little fireplace is nice, but the crazyness of the driver’s seat- out there, where Legend, by G-d, is made,- is strong allure, and the preference of a true man. Life happens out there. Sometimes weird, always beautiful.

Yeah, I don’t like to drive in snow, but i do it anyway. You’re stuck inside for half the winter if you don’t. Yesterday, I went out in a storm and two hours worth of errands took six. Snow also turns most drivers into complete idiots. I’ve nearly been killed about three times already this winter. Oh, well, “That’s Life”! (Oh, Frankie, sing some more!)

HVAC equipment and control systems. Metal fab equipment, yes? There’s some overlap there, I think.
Used to be a sales engineer in refrigerant flow controls in the old days, with a seven state territory. Heaven, for someone who digs a road trip, and I do. Way smaller territory now, so most of my travel is purely for fun these days.

Sales engineer, and I make my calls in a big, gas- hog pickup truck.
Love traveling myself, and for me, touring by car is the only way to go.

I love travelling. I do like to drive, too, but I wouldn’t be upset if I could go anywhere I wanted in the US by train like you can in the UK, Japan, or even Canada. Flying is neat, too, but for different reasons.

I could NOT live without a car. I usually have two or three. I drive 50,000 miles a year for pleasure and for my job. I generally drive most anywhere in the country instead of flying. I usually only fly when I am planning a very short stay. If it’s less than 1,000 miles away, I nearly always drive. I love it so. They will have to pry the steering wheel out of my cold, dead hands. Comfort, too! I love Cadillacs! Have three of them right now, have owned over fifteen of them. Big old Lincolns, Buicks, Olds, Pontiac (a cherry ‘73 Bonneville to die for!) God, I love cars! Especially American ones. (the Bentley is a twinkle in my eye, rb!)

Thankfully my wife has a car which I guess sort of means I have one…however a one vehicle family still defies the conventional American family… You’re right RB…not having any access to motorized transport is not a cohesive way to live in the states…especially around here where is snows a lot…

I’m sure that there are times when AL needs a car. One can rent a car anywhere in america, and AL can probably borrow a car from a friend anyway.

I usually spend about two or three hours a day doing art and an hour writing prose. Not counting forum discussions, mind. If I did, would be more like two or three hours of prose a day. (“Prose” is a word which means “writing which is not poetry.” Just in case you didn’t know.)

Trying to work myself up to an hour and a half of prose and three or four hours of art, but I tell you, ‘tisn’t easy to get motavated. That’s how dA has helped me so much.
