I think you are right, SC! It may have begun in 2001, when Georgie told the whole nation that God speaks to him. He actually believes this! What a maroon!

I also remember a series of novels from the 80’s set in approx. 2025 where the U.S. is a theocracy (and fascist dictatorship besides, think today’s Iran, but even worse). So instead of promoting democracy around the world, the U.S. is using it’s might to force it’s brand of christianity (yes, christianity in this fantasy) upon the rest of the world. And, of course, they force it upon the citizens of the U.S., too. Some citizens object, thus the novels…

Badass novella- “If This Goes On,” by Heinlein, I think, from his Future History.

I’ve got the whole afternoon until dinnertime, so thought I’d start a new topic! Many of us seem to love these kinds of stories! I love it all, novels, series, especially short stories. There are lots of them where religions are involved, too. Let’s see…

I’ve told this one before, a short story: This one involves christianity, The gist of it involves spreading the good news to the entire world, as they are told to do in the bible. The very last person among the world’s billions is told about Christ, then BOOM, RAPTURE! But not the rapture the christians are expecting! God is not the only one keeping track of the numbers, others are keeping track, too…

I have read a lot of works in my lifetime. I may not be able to point people directly to a book or author, such as the above. But love discussing this subject.

Do you all have any stories that you wish to share?
