Huckabee is a good choice. I like Ron Paul for his stand on our nations sovereignty. He is an OB against abortion also. He does have a few weird followers which worries me.
Yes I could have edited but that is what happens when your in a hurry.

i like ron paul. as a libertarian, he is most likely to honor the gift of self-governance that God has granted to each of his children. imho, all the other candidates want to be god over us in some fashion or another – over our money, our morality or both.

Apathetic
but if someone held a gun to my head I would pick Obama, just cause he’s black and that would be the first black president. Or maybe Hillaray, cause I seem to agree with some shit she says, and she’s a woman and that would be a cool first also.
But I think it doesn’t matter really, so who cares?

Bill Clinton was the first black president, didn’t you know? Seriously, though, a few years back I expected Condoleeza Rice to run. Condi vs. Hillary would have been the most fascinating matchup in American political history. The media wouldn’t have known what to do. And at least one of those “firsts” would have been guaranteed :)
Alas, that dream has died with Condi’s apparent lack of ambition…

rb, you can have my vote, I like Kucinich, but he’s not electable, I have to go with Edwards by default. Obama doesn’t have enough experience & I don’t care what anyone says, he is black, and if nominated, will not win. Besides which he was elected recently to the Senate, he should concentrate on doing his job for the people of Illinois instead of slacking off. Let him run in eight years when he has some notches on his belt. And Hilary? I’m sick enough of the Bush “dynasty”, I don’t think I want the democrat version, and she is so damn wishy washy, she is always soaking wet. The democrats lost their spines a long time ago and they still need back surgery. Even if they are lucky enough to win the presidency and keep both houses, they won’t get one damn thing done. For the first time in my life, I am considering not casting a vote for president. So, whoever you want, rb, my vote belongs to you.

I’m holding out for a “none of the above” option.
Arandur, I agree. Condi vs. Clinton would have been a kickass race, and my choice would have been pretty clear there. I don’t think Condi “lacks ambition,” though, I think she wants to get the hell out of politics. She was making noise awhile back about wanting to be a football commissioner.
This election is going to be a painful one.

Whoa, a political topic! How did I miss this? Let’s see…
Ron Paul – To call him Libertarian is to display a lack of understanding of Libertarianism. The Libertarian Party is not synonymous with the GOP, and Paul’s appeal to the Christian Right makes me very skeptical that he will keep Big Religion out of government. Though he might not “want to be god over us in some fashion”, the real question is if he wants his god to be god over us… in all fashions. Folks like that scare me. Theocracy scares me; as does theonomy, Dominionism, and every other scheme of the Church to overthrow the state.
Dennis Kucinich – Sorry, folks, but I gotta agree: He’s a nutcase. And though everyone seems to have forgotten, the fact that he ran Cleveland into the ground in 1978 shows that he really should not be trusted with a position in public administration. (Kinda like how Chappaquiddick should disqualify Ted Kennedy from ever becoming President.) Yes, that was 30 years ago, but nothing in his Congressional career shows that he’s changed.
Hillary Rodham-Clinton – Um… no. Just… no. I’d much sooner vote for Nancy Pelosi. And it has nothing at all to do with gender: Rodham-Clinton is the scariest non-theocrat in the election. Her presidency would be as different, and as worse, from her husband’s as 43’s presidency is from his father’s.
I have a hard time deciding among the rest. I’ve always liked Giuliani on the Republican side, and Fred Thompson intrigues me. Mike Huckabee’s support by the Christian Right worries me a bit, but his support of the Fair Tax initiative more than makes up for that; I’m leaning towards him right now. On the Democrat side, I like Barrack Obama, but I’ve actually met Bill Richardson and I like his candidacy as well. John Edwards… eh. Nothing not to like about him, but I just feel like we’ve seen it before. (Same thing with John McCain.)
So I’ll probably vote Huckabee in the primary, and then wait to see who gets the nominations before deciding on the general election. Even then, I might wind up voting Libertarian as I have in every Presidential race (and many other elections) since 1996.

SC, you may not realize it, but Chappaquiddick IS why Ted Kennedy can never run for President. He was lucky he was ever re-elected to the Senate. As we’ve seen before, Massachusetts voters are very forgiving (or very foolish, it’s a fine line!).
I particularly like what you had to say about theocracy. I also believe that some churches are itching to overthrow our government (and others). We, alas, are not privy to their councils. Do you know anything about this, i.e. can you expound?
I wish Nancy had thrown her hat (matching shoes, handbag) into the ring, but her career in the House got in the way. If she had been speaker for a longer time…oh, well.
Also, I am voting for whoever rb tells me to vote for, as I said. I meant it (besides, our primary in Wisconsin is such a waste of time, not that I think you would be wasting your time, rb)
As far as Kucinich goes, didn’t he already inherit a sinking ship, so to speak? I thought Cleveland was headed for the dumper before he came along. I suppose he just made it worse? As I said before, he is unelectable (oh, rb, let’s vote for him!).
