Quarantine

Do you believe that it is ok to quarantine humans that have a deadly and contagious infection or disease??? |
I’m sad to say that the answer to that would have to be yes. Cruelty to the few for the lives of the many. I don’t like the prospect any more than anyone else does. |
of course. Their condition effects other people negatively. |

i agree with Finix. Though the infected may be put into a horrible situation, if it saves a lot of lives it is actually justified. |

Heck, it may save the lives of those quarantined, also. I agree, some liberties would need to be temporarily suspended, oh, wait, that’s the Patriot Act! Silly me! But seriously, yes, it’s necessary. For those who have questions as to why AIDS patients in the U.S. are/were not quarantined, I can answer them! |

Does anyone really care? No one is replying to anything anymore. Well, for one thing, if the government had quarantined AIDS patients, then they would have had to take care of them. Also would have had to acknowledge the disease, which was completely ignored throughout the entire Reagan administration. So, we had to take care of ourselves, and we DID. Unfortunately, when that happens, A LOT OF PEOPLE DIE. Many of them are your friends! I had a remarkable fifteen years in the 80’s and 90’s. Many many good friends and good people were lost. If you are at all interested in seeing what it was like, see the movie “Longtime Companion”. I have only been able to watch it once all the way through in my entire life. Just the title can make me start to cry. It is absolutely just like my life was back then, everybody’s life in my social circle! It was unbelievable what hell that people endured and not just the victims. It is very difficult to lose so many people in one lifetime. You would think that one would become used to it when it happens over and over and over again in such a short period of time. You NEVER get used to it and you can’t stand it, but you have to be there for your friends. I cared for so many of them. Thank God it is much easier now, people are getting the help and support they need from friends, family, government, the medical establishment and it is no longer an (immediate) death sentence. I don’t know many of the newer victims, I don’t volunteer anymore for that sort of thing because I burned out on it and i can’t do it anymore. Besides, I’ve got my own health problems to deal with now that I’m old and decrepit. I’ll have more to say another time… |

Well I care and I’m not sure where I was hoping this topic would go… hence I was sitting back and waiting but now that there is actually topic matter to discuss I will chime in… as for quarantining people with aids or any other contagious and potentially lethal ailment it will never happen in this country… we are too far gone to P.C. bull crap to take such a course of action… |

I think it they should if it’s something that is extremely contagios like by touch or by being around the persons atmosphere. But quarantining people who have spmething like AIDs i think is wrong. It all depends the disease :))) |
