Because I’m not 18. Why am I prevented from participating in a contest because I’m 18? Do they think I have a lack of skill or something, simply because I’m a 16 and 3/4 years old?

About 60 years ago, 17 year old boys were pulled out from their homes, and were forced to give up their education, communication with their family and friends, and for some, their lives, to fight for our country. They had to kill German and Japanese soldiers. They had to watch their friends be killed. And they couldn’t take it.

And men of ages 20, 30, and 40 had to face the same things. And did they do a better job of it? No. Did they handle it better afterwards? No. They couldn’t take it.

And you’re telling me that in a few months, I not only have the right to, but could very well HAVE to put myself in harms way for the good of my country for a cause I don’t believe in, and yet I can’t work for a cause that I do believe in, using skills that I have inherited and practiced for the past two years because I’m still considered a minor?

I’m allowed tools that help kill, and entrance to places that can kill me. I am not allowed to be given tools to help people, to change things for the better of all mankind. I am not allowed to live.

Side note: Is there no way of contacting anyone running this site, or this contest? I’ve tried sending something to the webmaster, and of course I get no response. Is this all just a one way street here? Things going in, nothing coming out?

Seriously, KSDale, many of us are here just to hang out, not because we want to enter the contest. In fact, we have (or have had, anyway) people here as young as 12.

KSDale, c’mon, dude. It’s a laptop and a camera. The downside to being over 18 is that you have to work your ass off so you can buy them yourself.
Relax, kick back, and enjoy conversation with a bunch of good people that you wouldn’t have met otherwise.
