Response to original topic:

I think, first, his love is so perfect that we can barely understand what he has revealed to us. God loves unconditionally, which mankind cannot do in and of himself. God loves perfectly, which mankind’s love cannot come even close to or even compare.
Why God loves me, i may never understand at all, but I know that God created us perfect and He views us as his creation, broken by sin. God can never change and therefore his love for us cannot change in spite of mankind’s absolute sinfulness. What he created, he will not abandon.

So like I said I’ve been doing my HW. There’s still a lot of things I have to look in to concerning some stuff I found out & want to look into, so when I get the 411 on that I’ll make a thread or something. So Micheal the archangel=Adam=man made of the earth=Moses 3:7 “And I, the Lord God, formed man out of the dust of the ground…” Micheal=one who is like God. Don’t know exactly why Jesus & Adam are referred to as the same person sometimes? I’ll get back to you on that :)))

LdsGal202 wrote:
>well thanks, and yeah I’ll defenitely looking into that. I do know that micheal the archangel is Adam. Adam means the eath or man of the earth.

Well done, little Sister. Go with Adam as “man,”(made from earth, then look up what THAT means :)) then look up what “Michael” means. Incidentally, outside of Mormonism, Rosicrucianism, and a couple other disciplines of Christian esotericism, this equivalency of Adam and Michael is not known. Ponder it.
BTW, in older (LDS) Temple Ritual, Adam and Jesus are also the same guy. Worth thinking about.

And I agree w/ you, I’ve been raised mormon yes, but I’ve been doing my own research on other religions to ee what else is out there and also a study of my own,

Good for you. And, I’m not in any way demeaning Mormonism. I spent about 13 years traveling extensively in Utah, and I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for you crazy Zionists. You’re in a very cool tradition, with some very valuable teachings. Just don’t let the fundies (and yes, you have them too) color your way of thinking. Explore and research other religions, but try to see the similarities they have to your own, and be open- minded.

And since I won this battle 10 cool points to me!

CRAP. Allright, granted. The battle, perhaps, but not the war. :D

LdsGal202 wrote:
>Satol I love it when you give me a challenge! okay here it goes:

Thank G-d, LDSGal, you didn’t quote the verse talking about “Lucifer” being cast down, which is a major translation problem, and one most people rely on.
There may be hope for you. :D

BTW, technically, ya got me. Revelation does give it a mention. I tend to think of that particular book as somewhat outside the course of the rest of the Bible- it really is a book apart, and one of my favorites.
It’s really important to understand, though, that Revelation is commentary by a mystic, and way, WAY outside any kind of thought held by the basis of the Christian Faith, Judaism. Jews don’t see “the devil” in anywhere near the same way many Christians do, and it is their tradition that we are a splinter of, and actually, if studied carefully, very close to. Particularly Mormonism. There is absolutely no way that a Jewish/ Christian mystic (the guy we think of as John the Revelator/ Evangelist) would conceive Satan in the form we’re speaking of, particularly as an actual, fallen angel. We cheapen the allegorical mystery of our tradition when we do that.

St. John’s Apocalypse (Revelation), my has only been interpreted as an “end of the world” scenario, involving a pitched battle between the Christ and his evil counterpart, the AntiChrist, since the mid- 19th century. It is properly understood as a gnostic/ hermetic text, using very old imagery (pre- Bible) to explain the process of enlightenment through the “Christos,” or Divine within. You will not find that in standard, modern Bible interpretations. You will see the same imagery and story in many ancient Sacred Texts, and I’ll guarantee you, in my study of what Joseph Smith wrote, and esoteric Mormonism (yep- you guys have us pesky rascals too) big Joe was totally clued into this.

This Apocalypse, BTW, was not the only one written- several Biblical writers wrote versions, all contained in the Nag Hammadi Library, which I strongly encourage you to purchase and read.

Start thinking about this passage this way, and make the following assumptions (you don’t have to believe them, just go with me, as an experiment):

If allegory (and it is), who is Michael? It helps if you find out what that Hebrew name translates to in English. Who is Satan? Again, helps to know what that term means. Who fell? Adam, in a sense, fell, yes? What does the name “Adam” mean? What does “angel” mean, in Hebrew?

Study, darlin’. Spiritual development is far too important to merely accept what a church, members of that church (even, sadly, your parents), or clergy have forced you to parrot back. You MUST work this out, using your own brain. It’s key, and I hope I’ve told you this when you are still at a young enough age not to be stuck in a spiritual box. Don’t even accept what I tell you at face value. Analyze it. And seriously, look up the answers to the questions I asked you, then THINK about what this passage might mean.

Satol I love it when you give me a challenge! okay here it goes:

Rev.12:4,7-9

” 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

“7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. “

OH! NOW WHAT SON?! :)))
Bible refrence too! although it says this in the book of mormon as well, thanks Koo dalring.

Nope, can’t even blame Bro. Joe for this bit of hogwash.
We can blame the following:
1. Milton, in “Paradise lost,

which was probably based on,

2. A ridiculous interpretation of Isaiah 14: 12- 22, made popular during the 19th century, because people were too f*cking stupid to realize that a version of the Bible, through many bad translations, had largely distorted it’s intrinsic message.

The last bit of sensible understanding we have left of “Satan” is his part in Job as “Devil’s Advocate,” although that particular book has been so misinterpreted as to be almost valueless.

If I sound pissed, it’s because I am. The Bible is awesome as an ancient Sacred Text. Misinterpreted, you may as well wipe your ass with it’s Holy pages of wisdom.

god love us so much that we ourselves dont fully understand it.
one of the reason why he loves us so much is because, although he had made all the angels and all of is creation, he wanted somthing more personal. he wanted children of his own, so he decided to make us, we are his children, that`s why no matter what we do he loves us with a everlasting love.
notice very closely here and you will see the big different between us and the angels. when satan created sin and became a demon, and took 1/4 of the angels with him, god did NOT tell jesus or anyone else in heaven to help satan or the angels.. and why didnt god help satan and the angels ? simple, because satan was a spoiled little brad, he wanted to kill god so that he could get gods power and became the most powerful being in heaven. but he was stupid because, how can the creation kill is creator. BUT wait a minute, aren`t we spoiled and sinful too, we cursE god all the time, we even make fun of him, so whats the difference between us and the angels.
HERE it is. WE ARE HIS KIDS, so even if you curse god and tell him that you hate him, he forgives you and loves you, because we are kids he knows that we are going to make a lot of mistakes, so he ignores it and tries to help save us from ourselves….you remember when god told adam and eve not to eat the forbidden fruit, they didnt listen to god, intstead they disobey and do there own thing. but what did god do ? you think god would be angry and upset and beat them with a stick or somthing lol, BUT he didnt, instead he told jesus is first born son to come and die for us so we could be saved and come back home to him. so you see, HELL was NEVER created for us. it was created for the devil and his demons. so no matter what we do or say to our father, he will never turn his back on us because he loves us too much. however because he made us with a “free will” which means we can say or do whatever we want, we tend to ignore him and do our own thing which leads us to destructions at times. but all we have to do is try to be a good child and listen to him. whenever you need help he just shout out his name and he will help you. anyways i think i wrote too much lol. i was going to write more but i think i already wrote a lot. however feel free to ask me anything about the rapture, the millenium period or whatever topic you would like to know about.

Well, I hate to be the odd man out here, but this whole “we don’t deserve G-d’s love” thing?
It’s crap. Says who? Granted, our behavior sucks a rather large amount of the time, but what the hell. If you are going to believe in an omnipotent G-d, and that he created man, it naturally follows that our imperfections serve some purpose.

Well, OK, SwissCelt, you’ve got the whole Demiurge thing going on, but I look at that as more allegory/ metaphor than anything else. Genesis’ “dressed in skins,” and all that.

I don’t think God’s destroying anything for the time being… I think he’s allowing us to destroy everything, just like the numerous times he let the Israelites do the same thing in the Bible… As for hurricanes and natural disasters, I believe that those are the result of the fall of man in Genesis… I personally believe that God will eventually destroy the world and replace it with paradise, like another Eden…

JT is a warrior! we know what that is, he makes me so proud sometimes. (yeah, the humility discussion, I know, I know!) I’m a warrior, too, in my own way. Let him destroy, whatever replaces it will probably be better, anyway.
