Questions. Comments. Let’s Figure it out you guys! |
The book itself, or more purposely the events contained therein? |
Okay, here’s a question: what, to you, is it’s meaning? |
To me the meaning of Revelation is partially symbolic and somewhat literal. I believe that it is the epoch in the great plan of redemption. The cumulation of all of mankind’s history and the beginning of a whole new reality. |
Some believe revelation is avoidable.. And some believe it is occurring right now as we blog that idea is very scary.. All I can do is refer some of you to some books of enlightenment.. Then the connections will be scary. Revelation is a warning to Believers that there will be struggle in the end times. |

“And some believe it is occurring right now as we blog that idea is very scary.” Or exciting depending on your position. I find it intriguing how it’s sometimes difficult to tell the difference between the events in Revelation with whats happening on the news. |
Yes, What is scary is the idea of the NWO. But lets not blog about that.. They watch.. |
JT, Are you being a little paranoid (just a little)? |
Thats what they want you to think.. Haha JK. But I do think that we should keep this stuff underground. |
No problem, I vote with you on that issue, buddy, also thank you for picking up my request from the other thread re revelation. there, ab, I edited myself again! |
Let’s hear a little more from you all on this topice, I have asked for this in other threads, too. Oh, boo hoo! Nobody will reply. Sad little kookookachoo. |
why should it be scary? only bliss awaits those who embrace him.. |
Bliss…If you are correct… |
It’s appearent to me that things will get alot worse before we get to the Bliss…. |
Sigh… fear you are correct,Sir… |
It’s also a discussion about Church organization, the dangers to be wary of in all ages, and a liturgical manual for celebration and worship in union with the saints and angels in heaven. |
Of all the books in the bible that people take literally, this one has struck me as the most ridiculous. |
Right, because the notion of the world ending is ridiculous. On the book though, it is a topical study of the rest of the Bible and to understand the imagery therein you need to study the other books. Most people that don’t understand Revelation are unread in the rest of the Bible. |
Oh, Revelation is back, thanks for resurrecting it, as it were, Arundur. I noticed a comment earlier containing the word. Can you expound just a bit, don’t go all crazy, though. i kinda like emptycalm’s comment. AL, i think Rev is one of those books that can be twisted a little bit for the masses because it’s a little weird. |
Expound a bit on what, Koo? The whole topic? As for its “ridiculousness,” that’s largely because of what AL said: a lack of understanding of the rest of the Bible, coupled with the simple fact that we don’t talk in symbolic, apocalyptic terms anymore. Nearer its time of writing, it would have been more easily understood. However, there was also the hopeful belief at the time that Christ would come again very soon, so they had their own complications in interpretation because of that limited perspective. Now, though, the Church has had 1900 years to study it and pray about it. As with many other issues, the Church is slowly growing up and learning more, and the Deposit of Faith (our term in the Catholic Church for the accumulated understanding of all of God’s Revelation, not just the book) is better understood now than when the Church was in its infancy. |
Haha oh I understand it. That does not mean it’s completely ridiculous. It’s not something to take literally. |
No, but it is something to take seriously…There is alot that made no sense before the modernization of weapons systems and recent tecnology advancements… |
What does that have to do with anything? |
Everything, if you have ever read Revelation…There are numerous technology statements in there that made no since even as little as 100 years ago. It’s hard to imagine 1/3 of the world’s population wiping itself out with bayonets and muskets. |
Too literal. Thirds are common symbolic numbers. While there may be exceptions to this otherwise unqualified statement, all numbers in Revelations are entirely symbolic. |
